MLP Custom : Colour of Love DS

My first rehairing effort. All in all, I'm happy with her hair, but her paint-job is not up to my usual standard. ((Even *I* can see the brushstrokes! ARH!) Note to self, thin the paint more next time. I also accidentally made her tail too short, but I suppose that's all right since I was tyring to make her look like a G1 Rainbow Pony. Her mane is slowly but surely calming down and learning to lie flat. It was sticking out in all directions when I first got done rehairing her.

Anyway, she was originally a badly shorn Sparkler with almost no symbols to speak of and red marker all over her face. Poor girl! So painted her a deep, rich purple and gace her rainbow hair. (Another note to self... do NOT use hair from different sources ever again... the yellow and blue are straight silky skeins from Dazzleglow... the green was yacked from a very sad Scrumptious and the pink is from an even sadder Cotton Candy.) She has glitter eyeshadow and little bits of glitter all over her... mostly due to the fact that I couldn't think of any other way to do glitter eyeshadow than to put a thin layer of clear nail polish where I wanted it and sprinkling fine loose glitter over it. Big mistake... now it's everywhere... though it kind of gives her a neat sparkly effect. Her horn has been dry brushed to accentuate the twists and the very tip dipped in glitter.

Not my best custom... but she's cute. Maybe I'll put her up on ebay.
